aspaklaria

Aspaklaria is the eponymous song of Gorna's second album. It's like a prayer. In Aramaic 'aspaklaria me'ira' means 'clear lens'. The Gemara uses the word to describe the highest level of the spiritual vision. Gorna’s motto is what inspired her to write this song: 'O just let me be a transparent vessel for the divine will!'

Only You

Like all songs on 'Aspaklaria', this song too enjoys the liberty of having a dual meaning: one concerning human interactions and the other from some otherworldly realms. On the one level it is simply a love song. On a deeper level its heroine is a character called ‘The Soul’ and it depicts The Soul’s time journey from the point of being designated to manifest in the body of a new born baby, through the rest of its life to its very completion.

These two mottos are what inspired Gorna to write this song, respectively:

How can I best tell you about my love for you when words cannot!

...Within the body’s physical form, the character in this song - The Soul - contemplates its connection with the reason for its being: The Formless…
